The Compact Cordless Drill Driver Indicates Smaller is Better
In the world of cordless drill/drivers, the compact models are proving to have some key advantages over the standard models. Three areas where compact models have a big advantage are usefulness, cost, and technology. In fact, these advantages may bring about a day when compact cordless drill/drivers may replace most standard drill/drivers.
Before going further, it is important to give a brief working definition to a compact model and a standard model. They can each be defined by size and for our purposes weight will also be a factor. A compact cordless drill/driver can be defined as being less than 8.5 inches in length from the end of the tail to the end of the chuck. A maximum weight for a compact model would be under 5 pounds with a battery inserted in it. A standard drill/driver would be defined as any model that is longer than 8.5 inches in length or over 5 pounds in weight. These metrics will vary slightly with each manufacturer as to what maximum length or weight they use when calling their model a compact.
The compact models advantage in usefulness stems from its smaller size and its lighter weight. Its size allows users to work much easier in tight spaces such as under sinks, inside cabinets, the outer fringe in attics, between floor rafters, and any other tight spaces. Its lighter weight makes it much easier to control it and less weary to do repetitive or overhead work such as hanging dry wall.
The compact models advantage in cost is a winning situation for both the user and the manufacturer. The manufacturers are able to produce the compact models at a lower cost than they are able to produce the standard models. This has allowed the compact models to be sold to the public at a lower price than the standard models.
Perhaps the greatest advantage that compact models have is technology. Manufacturers are always looking for ways to make their products better. In the cordless tools industry, one way they have found to make their tools better is to make what they can compact. Manufacturers will continue to push for technological advances in making their tools more compact as long as it is beneficial to them and the consumer.
In conclusion, if all things are equal such as torque, rpm, voltage, speed control, or other technical details, what advantage does a standard drill/driver have over a compact drill/driver? The compact model is more useful and almost always cost less than its standard model. Technology in the Cordless tool Industry is trending to make compact drill/drivers and similar compact cordless tools even better than they are now. Many of them are already high Quality products. ihave a pair of sonic s2000 speakers and want to use them with a AIWA nsx-a555 compact disc stereo system.?
the speakers, sonic s2000, each have two connectors for bare connections however the stereo hookup using the speakers that came with the unit each have a plug that goes to the stereo for high frquency and a double bare lead that goes into the stereo with fip holders for low frequency. can i use the sonic speakers with some type of manipulation?
