what kind of tv should i get?
can you list the brand names in order from best to least best in your opinion? (Vizio, Samsung, Magnavox, Sony, Philips, Sylvania, Sharp, ) you can also throw in brand names that i've missed
so i have a tv for the living room, but i want one in my room too. i dont play video games with it, but i might get a wii...im not sure yet. i have a $500 budget.
can you suggest what kind of tv i should get with that budget, and how many inches (and also include a target price)? thank you!

I wouldn't buy Magnavox, Sylvania, Viore, Insignia, Haer, Coby, or any of the other no-name brand options. Frankly, I wouldn't buy anything but the top 6 I listed.
For $500 you should realistically be able to get a very good quality 32" set. I think to go up to 37", and maintain a good brand, you'd need at least another $70-75 if not more.
At 32", you don't need to get caught up in the "advanced" features. You're just unlikely to see many, if any, of the advantages they might offer. They won't hurt your viewing experience, they might infact help it a bit, just not to the level of how much you would pay for the features (So poor bang for the buck). So what that all means is that you should look for a basic LCD, a CCFL 720p 60Hz LCD. That should serve you just fine at 32".
Models I would recommend you consider,
Panasonic TC-L32X1 $380 Amazon
- if you don't see the X1 around, the C12 is good too, its practically the same TV
Sony KDL-32L5000 $450 Amazon
LG 32LH20 $430 Amazon
If you are into sports, action movies, or any gaming, the one advanced feature you might want to consider is 120Hz refresh rate. That can help deliver a crisper image for fast motion. Again, how relevant it is at only 32" is questionable. But incase its something you're interested in look at,
Panasonic TC-L32G1 $484 Amazon
I'd personally, highly, recommend either of the Panasonic options. I think those are the best bang for the buck options within your budget. And its one of the most reliable brands on the market. Either buy directly from Amazon or find a retailer that will price match (so you ensure it stays within budget).
