1980 Mitsubishi Electric (MGA) 19" TV with remote
how can I get my TV to show me what's plugged in by the red, white, and yellow cables?
I have a tv (the brand is MGA) and I've plugged in a VCR through the red, white, and yellow cables but I cant figure out how to switch the tv to that mode.
I dont have the original remote, instead I have a verizon fios remote.

If you had the MGA's remote, you would select an input either from a menu or from a button on the remote itself (labeled something like INPUT or SOURCE).
You might also be able to select your input via controls on the set itself.
Unfortunately, the remote for your FIOS receiver might not be able to do every function that your MGA remote would (I have that problem with my Samsung HDTV).
Your choices would seem to be to spring for a new MGA remote that matches your set's model number, or dig into the user's manual for your FIOS receiver and remote to find out how to change your TV's input. Failing that, you might log into your FIOS supplier's on-line Help desk and ask for guidance. They might also have an 800-number to call for such help. Good luck.
