Ohio posts 3rd highest foreclosure rate in September

Thursday, October 15, 2009

The Columbus Dispatch reports:

September posted the third-highest number of foreclosures -- after August and July -- since RealtyTrac began documenting foreclosures in early 2005. ... Observers are skeptical that foreclosures are declining in Ohio, given the state's ongoing loss of jobs and the fact that many adjustable mortgages have yet to reset to higher payments.

In addition, other measures of foreclosure activity, including a survey by the Mortgage Bankers Association, have shown no decline in foreclosures in the state.
